Our planet Earth is now greatly in danger and is polluted due to man’s own carelessness and negligence to his environment. However, at this particular scenario, have we even thought of how often we put mother Earth into risk?
As being observed, lots of garbage are scattered everywhere. We can see them on the streets, canals, pathways or even around the school campus. Yet, do we have any idea where all these stuffs go? Most of our trashes are sent to places called landfills or dump-low areas of land that are filled with nothing else, but all sorts of garbage and leftovers. This world has to survive and flourish for the succeeding generations. With this pile of garbage that we keep disposing of, logic would clearly tell us that we are running out of space where we could dump them. Land-fills contain materials which are very hazardous to our health.
With the country’s economy decline and present poverty conditions, families are forced to live near this dumpsite and even earn a living out of it. Aside from that, there is also a continuous rise of global warming which we can certainly notice through the unpredicted changes of the weather. Thus, being a part of this society, we are also affected by the harmful and devastative effects of our own irresponsible response to our environment. Floods and destructive landslides are just some of these harmful effects of our uncaring ways to our environment. And who do you think will suffer? Well, we are the ones who will soon suffer if these worsening situations continue.
Yes, we are definitely running out of time. Such great circumstances are brought to us in this sophisticated world. It is now time to take actions or else we will bring ultimate destruction to this planet. Likewise, it is not yet too late for us to save Mother Earth. Perhaps, we could do great things and it is actually part of the responsibility that has been engraved in us from the beginning. Thus, we can still contribute in our own little ways in conserving and protecting our environment.
As writers, we are tasked to inform our fellowmen on the protection and conservation of our environment. We must wake them up and their consciences about the disastrous acts they’ve contributed to the degradation of our environment .The youth is the hope of our land. Thus, we are expected to make wise actions and movements for our Mother Earth so that we may be able to save her from continuous destructions.
As a journalist, I could be an instrument in promoting global and environmental awareness to my fellow human beings. Through my own little ways, I can save the environment and, at the same time, protect Mother Earth. Hence, I can make it through Campus Journalism. Perhaps, I can write inspiring and informative articles regarding the dilemmas, our present world is facing. In this way, the readers will soon come to realize their own mistakes; hence, they shall now commence with something prolific to make our environment clean and green, and to back up further what is beneficial just to change our uncaring ways towards environment and Mother Earth.
Indeed, we deserve a second chance and by this time, we need to stress out the significance of it to mankind. The Almighty is not wrong in making us His caretakers and stewards in this temporary world. Moreover, let’s take the opportunity in making this world a better place to live in.

Thought flows in terms of stories...
Stories about events, stories about people, and stories about intentions and achievements. The best teachers are the best story tellers. We learn in the form of stories-Frank Smith. An educational system isn't worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn't teach them how to make a life-Author Unknown.
