Thought flows in terms of stories...

Stories about events, stories about people, and stories about intentions and achievements. The best teachers are the best story tellers. We learn in the form of stories-Frank Smith. An educational system isn't worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn't teach them how to make a life-Author Unknown.

The month of August is also known as "Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa"

As we all know, the month of August is also known as "Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa." In this month we commemorate the different ethnic dances, costumes, folk songs, and all kinds of Filipino poetry.

It is also the time in commemorating the wonderful deeds of Manuel L. Quezon, "Ama ng Wikang Pambansa." Here in MNSHS, the culmination for Buwan ng Wika is to be celebrated every year, especially in the month of August.

The culmination for Buwan ng Wika is very memorable for the reason that MNSHS will strictly celebrate with its theme "Wikang Filipino Mula Baler Hanggang Buong Pilipinas."

It will be hosted by Justine Faith Basilla, the KAMAGFIL president (Kapisan ng mga Mag-aaral sa Filipino) and Debbie Ellis Daniel, the KAMAGFIL representative.

The program will start with two wonderful speeches to be given by Madame Eutiquia S. Alday, the MNSHS' principal and Ms. Tresa Cantutay,  MAPEH coordinator and Filipino teacher.

Students from different year levels will present spectacular events in Buwan ng Wika. The 4th year Uranium will render a wonderful speech choir. It will be followed with a classical song by the 3rd year Zinc and a pop song by the 1st year Gold. The section Lead presenters from 2nd year level will spearhead a funny Drama which is intended for everyone regarding a Filipino language fluency. The 1st year Copper will render another version of  a Filipino song entitled "Ako'y Isang Pinoy."

The 3rd year Nickel will recite a poem "Sa Aking mga Kababata" which is to be followed by the 2nd year Silver students who will sing together "Ako ay Pilipino."

Before the program ends, Patricia Claire Castañeres will recite a lovely poem while the 4th year Platinum will present a dramatic speech choir.

The program will end by a thanksgiving speech to be given by Justine Faith Basilla, the KAMAGFIL president.

The principal said, “Although it is not in the month of August, we must put in our hearts that Filipino culture should be practiced everywhere. We should be proud of it and lastly, we should not take this for granted."

Communication is likened to an open beach

Welcome!

Bonjour à tous. Comment allez-vous? Enchanté de faire votre connaissance. Bienvenue à “Blog: Personal Views.” Je m’appelle Jun. Je suis très heureux d’échanger des informations et de partager avec vous mes expériences. A bientôt.

Although the preceding language is differently expressed in this personal blog of mine, but the message is very clear. It’s about greeting and communication.

Please bear in mind that sharing information with others and apprising the latest updates of the world today give emphasis to the importance of global communication, i.e. free communication and freedom of expression. It relinquishes our rights from “self-seclusion and self-inhibition” to help people unfurl their inundating mind streams and open out into something that results in a rich harvest of ideas from them.

To commence with, here it goes …

Communication is likened to an open beach and it is very important in the sense that a lot of people will be informed and can share with one another regarding the issues and other things that can be beneficial for everybody or for “the common good.” Communication is something that can bridge you between the unknown world and the known world with sufficient information to dish out. Likewise, it’s about expressing and conveying your thoughts, emotions, notions and concepts with another human beings.

The ideal outcome of the event will animadvert upon itself and it will boomerang to the concerned persons if things are not properly addressed. It reciprocates best communication skills that can aid in keeping one’s head and confidently taking charge of unfamiliar situations.

People are more likely to listen to you, whatever you have to utter, if you can express yourself well, and this is particularly useful in influencing and negotiating significant personal, social and business matters.

To elaborate further about communication as an advantage over the other sub-categorized implications and cognitive-voluntary schemas with communicative approaches. The opposite sides are taken into account. Say for instance, a communication as regards the utilization of idiomatic expression like “between the devil and the deep blue sea” which connotatively emphasizes its true color and veritable symbolism.

In this expression, if you are between the devil and the deep blue sea, you are in a scenario where there are two equally unpleasant options or alternatives. For example, “When the new product didn’t take off, the management was caught between the devil and the deep blue sea: develop a new marketing campaign or drop the product.”

In this open communication, as well as distinct scenario of the two comparable objects, each object will liken metaphorically to a different perspective. It comes in handy in working out the involution or rising actions and dealing with difficult people.

Open communication is said to be fathomed, unparalleled, and incomprehensible closed-doors gaps that sometimes implicate many dimensions, from something that is facile or so simple and something that is more complicated.  Besides, it is “something” that is potentially complex to comprehend the pros and cons of a subtle and particular human being’s intervention.

To enlighten anew about the open communication and open alternative views, communication itself mainly connects to the human mind. It carries a heavy burden with consciousness and sub-consciousness. The open mind is also susceptible to “a lack of conviction.”

Too many conflicting viewpoints can enter an open mind and cause indecision and unfair treatment.  With regard also to any standpoint, it is indispensable now and then to conceal the mind from reality and connect it to the real world where individuals do utterly communicate, disallow any more input, make a decision and act.

Perhaps, more significant than having an open mind is having a mind that is capable of being open or closed. The hinges of our mind are our capability to act upon. We can decide to accept or reject information depending upon the fair judgment, trials and animadversions from the people around. It might be local or international.

Finally, anybody in this planet must shun from putting a gap; otherwise, open communication will vanish into thin air and a covert communication channel will be thwarted at once without question, and it should be dished out with correct acceptance and unmistakable honor to pin down.

Ms. Minglanilla won special and major awards that made her a grand slam winner

Ms. Claudine Nicole Librando won special and major awards that made her a grand slam winner: Ms. Pepsi Cola, Ms. Prime Asia, Ms. DermStreet, 2nd Best in Talent and Best in School Uniform. Another student from the same school, Ms. Krizia Marie Gabrielle Dosdos, 15 years old, 4th year – Platinum got the 1st runner up.

The Municipality of Minglanilla made its successful town fiesta and yearly made a tremendous celebration for beauty pageant among high school students from different schools (both private and public), namely, Minglanilla National Science High School, Tubod National High School, Lipata National High School, Tungkop National High School, Tulay National High School, Camp 7 National High School, Guindaruhan National High School, University of the Visayas (Minglanilla Campus), Southern Bethany Christian School and Immaculate Heart of Mary Academy.

The beauty pageant occurred last August 20, 2007 at the New Minglanilla Sports Complex. People from all walks of life were all filled with awe by the astonishing performances done by the twenty lovely candidates who were all proudly representing their respective schools, according to the organizer.

For each school within the Municipality of Minglanilla, two ladies were given such an opportunity to represent their school. Only the aforementioned ten schools joined in the search for Ms. High School Minglanilla this school year 2007-2008.

The said contest was truly a tough job for each candidate due to the consecutive practices they had while busy catching up with the lessons in school. Besides, workshops, seminars, campus tours and other sort of interactions were conducted in order to boost the confidence and self-esteem of every candidate. But, despite the pressures and stress, all of them were very happy with experiences they had gained and earned for even so short a time.

“When this game is over, I’m sure I’m going to miss this type of bonding that we are all experiencing now,” this was the usual line that would pop out from each mouth of the candidates.

“And the Miss High School Minglanilla ’07 is…” this was the statement from the host that gave the audience the thrill and excitement for the reason that the two candidates of Minglanilla National Science High School were the only ones left on stage and who successfully made it up for that big and final announcement.

That was surely the pride of each MNSHS student who attended the event that evening. It was Krizia Marie Gabrielle Dosdos, 15 years old, 4th year – Platinum got the 1st runner up position. And the lady who brought home the crown was none other than Claudine Nicole Librando, 16 years old, 4th year – Uranium. In addition to that, Claudine also won special and major awards that made her a grand slam winner: Ms. Pepsi Cola, Ms. Prime Asia, Ms. DermStreet, 2nd Best in Talent and Best in School Uniform.

Any human being in this world must recoil from putting a gap; otherwise, open communication will vanish into thin air and a covert communication channel will be thwarted at once without question

“Please bear in mind that sharing information with others and apprising the latest updates of the world today give emphasis to the importance of global communication, i.e. free communication and freedom of expression. It relinquishes our rights from “self-seclusion and self-inhibition” to help people unfurl their inundating mind streams and open out into something that results in a rich harvest of ideas from them.”

The isolated beauty and tranquility of the place connote open communication and progress. With the ambiance of the surroundings, you can feel figuratively the essence of reaching out to other people and do  communicate with them regardless of races around the world through “vital and candid information.”

Communication serves as a bridge between the family and the community — working together for a unified stand on the issue and for a solid foundation to come by the common goals and for the amelioration of one’s life.

Metaphorically, it is likened to an open beach because it is very important to all of us in this planet who ought to shun from putting a gap; otherwise, open communication will vanish into thin air and a covert communication channel will be thwarted at once without question.

The main reason for this is that people have the right to be informed and they have to share with one another regarding the issues and other things that can be beneficial for everybody in order to reach ultimately for “the common good.”

Communication is something that can bridge you between the unknown world and the known world with sufficient information to dish out. Likewise, it’s about expressing and conveying your thoughts, emotions, notions and concepts with another human beings.

We can decide to accept or reject information depending upon the fair judgment, trials and animadversions from the people around. It might be local or international.

Finally, information should be dished out with correct acceptance and unmistakable honor to divulge and pin down with laurels.

Mingscians as campus journalists go into raptures over MDGs in the Philippines!

“Campus Journalism as a Catalyst for Change: Achieving the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) by 2015” is a challenge of every campus writer in the Philippines to have cognizance about the MDGs. According to study, the all eight MDGs are indeed measurable, quantifiable and realistic. To support its claim, each of the eight goals has a set of targets. These targets are quantified through indicators that will be set as the benchmark for measuring each country’s progress.

DepEd memorandum expresses its journalistic stand and goes into raptures over the eight MDGs. The campus journalists demonstrate understanding of the MDGs’ importance to the masses by expressing them through varied journalistic forms and approaches, demonstrate commitment to support MDGs by advocating and integrating them in related school community initiatives and enhance journalistic competence through healthy and friendly competitions such as individual, group, as well as radio broadcasting and scriptwriting contests.

MDGs and campus journalism go hand in hand for the development and gradual progress to gauge the veracity of societal needs, as far as global population is concerned. The student-writers have responsibility and awareness about the dissemination campaign to cater to the needs of the majority through sustention of the eight MDGs to become fully operational without delays.

For the information of everybody, Millennium Development Goals consist of the eight goals, and the acronym itself MDG is a familiar buzzword. However, there is little or no awareness of this global agenda agreed upon by 191 nations in 2000. In fact, a number of journalists who attended a recent media forum said they had not heard of the MDGs despite the fact that the Philippines has been an active participant in the drafting of many protocols involving human rights.

In a press release published recently in a national daily newspaper, it emphasized the importance of each MDG. It described as a roadmap in fighting poverty, and as a partnership between developed and developing countries in the attainment of these eight goals. To reprint these goals, they are as follows:

On the other hand, despite some clamors circulating around the country, some young journalists keep on rallying behind the proponents of MDGs. In fact, some questions have raised: Do they resolve global problems? Do the teachers impart savvy of journalism with regard to MDGs on the campus?

By all accounts, fundamentally, the better way to teach journalism is to train them to write for life. Perhaps, that’s a motherhood phrase. What the writer has really wanted to utter is to go beyond the competition mode. The holding of competitions to put something through its paces with the  students’ skills on campus journalism might have drudged to a certain echelon.

But making the students practice campus journalism more might do miracles and nose around more youth to the craft of factual “fourth estate.” This is not an animadversion on DepEd’s practice of holding schools press conferences in the country. This is only an overall standpoint of the Editorial Board and Staff of The Access school paper.

Whether we like it or not, the truth is that … campus journalism really works in dishing out information entirely about MDGs! It gradually resolves the problems that have already been addressed, particularly to the concerned countries with the eight MDGs to tag along.

Journalism gives emphasis to the importance of valuable information with the help of various media. Each student-writer must use extreme campus journalism as a means of making the people become fully aware of what is really happening around us today. If the people increase total awareness and heighten participation, the plans of development seem to realize and the MDGs will be successfully carried out.

As a result, significant decrease in poverty and amplified a much-needed boost in national economy will come to follow. The people will go hand in hand for the betterment of economy, and work with the heart to upgrade the conditions of the general public. It is inevitable that all of us are living in this labyrinth-filled nature and cycle of ups and downs by which the globe of our fate revolves in stages.

Our conditions at present are not still sustainable, not enough to cope with the demands and needs of society; ergo, we have to come to “grips” with the MDGs and apply draconian measures in order to accentuate the adequacy of our living conditions.

Through journalism, campus writers go into raptures over MDGs, especially in the Philippines!

Top-level officials visit MNSHS and observe French classes

DESPITE the circumstances of the great language diversities, the observation of French classes at Minglanilla National Science High School (MNSHS) took place last September 28, 2010 with some attendance, coming from DepEd officials (Central, Regional & Division Offices), French Embassy Linguistic Attaché, Alliance Française de Manille and Alliance Française de Cebu directors of studies, and other foreign language coordinators involved in the special program.

Regional SPFL-F Coordinator Ms. Marcelita S. Dignos through the memorandum issued by Director Recaredo G. Borgonia said  the visit and observation of French classes are geared towards reviewing progress of implementation of the SPFL-F, focusing on the agreed outputs and outcomes within the SPFL-F results framework including the terms in the MOA between the Embassy of France and DepEd which was signed last September 28, 2009, and reviewing actions taken on the recommendations formulated during the conference on start-up activities for the implementation of the teaching of French as a second foreign language SY 2010-2011 in selected Science High Schools in Region VII held last May 28, 2010.

Linguistic Attaché Emilie Flambeaux of the French Embassy to the Philippines emphasized the fact that French was the second international language and a key to prepare Filipino students “for their role as global citizens”. During the special visit at MNSHS, the visitors congratulated the French teachers, faculty members and the head of school Eutiquia S. Alday in their efforts to promote cultural and linguistic diversity.

On the other hand, DepEd Undersecretary for Programs and Projects Dr. Vilma Labrador during the language assessment and planning workshop held last February 16-19, 2010 at the Tagaytay International Convention Center, reminded the audience that the choice of science high schools was made since science is a key field for both French and Philippine governments. She said French has been already introduced in 13 science high schools from NCR and Region VII. 21 teachers are currently undergoing training in the two French cultural centers, Alliance Française in Manila and Alliance Française in Cebu.

The agreement signifies the important role of DepEd-learning institution as a privileged partner of the Embassy, in terms of the promotion of French culture, language and education in Cebu and the rest of the Visayas and Mindanao, according to Emilie Flambeaux. She also added that Alliance Française has four objectives: to promote the French language, France, Europe and the 70 countries which are members of the French-speaking community; to encourage intellectual exchange and debate; to support Filipino artists and intellectuals, and to advise Filipino students who wish to study French culture and/or study in France.

DepEd Coordinator for Special Program on Foreign Language (French) Ana Maria Hernandez expressed her profound gratitude to the principal Eutiquia S. Alday in her active role and support to the foreign language, together with faculty members for their hospitality, French teachers Dr. Ermetes F. Adolfo, Jr. and Jacqueline F. Bucao, and the 3rd year and 4th year students for their active participation during demo-lessons and their concerted efforts and interests to learn French language.

Top-seeded seniors overturned sophomores at 51-49

By Franzis Mari Lawas

SPORTS EVENTS.  The Mingscians listened to the instructions
as they were ready for the different sports events.

Top-seeded seniors overturned sophomores at 51-49 on the MNSHS Intramurals’ Basketball Championship housed at Minglanilla Sports Complex last July 18.
Since the first half, seniors ruled over sophomores. Their point guard Kevin Dico showed up his outstanding rebounds and killing defenses. Seniors forward Mhar Kevin Ubas made a mischievous block against Delfin’s attempted rebound.
Sophomores struck their revenge on the second half. Betito and Largo made back-to-back shots that resulted in the fight close. Captain Antilegando took hard to guard them. Above all, seniors achieved victory with the help of Caño’s hot lay-ups and three-point shots.
“The game is hot! Finally, we proved our best. It’s overwhelming,” coach Ojober Rebojo proudly said.
Seniors singled out to represent Minglanilla National Science High School on the Sports Municipal Meet. It held at the same venue last year.

Philippine economic growth is the main objective in making the policy and in designing the investment projects

In many developing countries like the Philippines, economic growth is the main objective in making the policy and in designing the investment projects. However, how can we realize growth without economic stability? It is intuitive that growth without stability can be inefficient and limited. The economic experience of the Philippines is a prime example of how stability is essential for effective and long term growth. The constantly changing atmosphere conforms to the progression of countries’ economic stability. Time is a factor of change that brings humanity at the edge of the borders and further separates the truth and deception. It is entailed in the term of fortune by which a human being believes in and carries the lucks of cards which are usually used by the fortunetellers to decipher one's future life. It shows that most human beings care only for the present and future lucks without even trying to look behind their backs to seek for verification of the things they are doing.
The classification of people intends to separate society, loosing the hopes that it would be united. The diverse people within the global community, from all walks of life, have brought to greater heights every time the clock strikes its second-hand. The doors of hopes have been closed inside the citizen's heart since discrimination and corruption have brought about poverty into fame. The prominent term, poverty, which has been used by the majority that is commonly living under-bridge, squatter’s area, or along the seashores and even at the dumpsite generally blinded by the people to foresee the forthcoming "blurred future." How can a bright future be attained if the determined and optimistic hopes of the people have been taken away just because of poverty?
How can be the youth build the bride to future if majority of them are hungry at this present dispensation? It maybe easy to answer verbally but very difficult to solve. It is like a labyrinth of questions that need critical analogy to unravel.
Perhaps, in these gloomy times, it is very rare that we can encounter a true noble man like our heroes of the past who are willing to sacrifice for the sake of the people as citizens of the country. How rare also to see the honest people returning bags full of money sincerely to the owner without an exchange? But why it is easy to find the blind people singing along the road, asking for just a piece of what we have or even an innocent child asking for a coin to buy something to eat?. How ironic that we are saved by our God from the sins that had been committed by our ancestors--to sacrifice His own life and to redeem mankind for the inequities? Either one of us is unable to extend help to those in need. Why is it very difficult to open the doors whenever someone has knocked on it? Why is it very difficult to share what we have to those less fortunate brothers and sisters of Christ? Why are our values slowly fading as modernization conquers through breakthroughs? Is there any solution that our leaders initiate peaceful moves to end these problems and start integration of diverse societies?
And that’s the purpose of a leader--to govern and build bridges that will help his country to progress along with the citizens. To cope with all the requirements for regional integration, the Philippines needs to narrow its development gaps and to closely pave the way for the other countries to invest in. The Philippines needs support for the development of sub-regional growth areas and facilitates bridging these development gaps. Furthermore, the government must harmonize with whatever implementing programs to impose upon the citizens to help eradicate poverty and unite with linguistic diversities. As the saying goes “external problems can never be solved if there are conflicts within themselves,” so government should focus first on the problems inside its territory so that the key to another level can be obtained and at that time it would be easy to cope with the economic development.
Having different philosophies in life is not a problem but a challenge that our leaders must carry the torch of guidance and lead us to empower and sustain the momentum of equitable rights and responsibility-- blending unlike notions to create dynamic answers to the problems of mankind. As the economic boom of each country may help promote common values and norms of living connecting diverse cultures, the Philippines may help bridge the future of a new generation to be safe, peaceful, united and progressive society.
It is the fervent hope that the humanity surpasses excellence, reaches beyond the horizon and searches for the fields of the unexplained. Therefore initiating within ourselves is a great help because we may have wielded power and influence over our neighbors by any means. We could have better economy that emerges from every community but our country in general extends its help and the government officials know that the young minds of today’s generation will merely converge "theories" and practically build a prolific community of sharing societies in order to be economically progressive in the future.

Strategic Attempts and Desires of Artistic Killings

INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY is usually found everywhere in this world which is encompassed in the realm of an artistic war. It is a manifestation of such strategic attempts and desires of artistic killings to encompass superpower and to invade cultures of other people. In this era, the world seems experienced chaos and disharmony and the world truly hungers for peace!

Technological advances are different; to the same extent, it is also viable from what the modern war is unleashing about. It is different from the war in the past. War now employs weapons of death and destruction which are incomparably more effective than those of the past weapons because of technological advances. It is consequently the worst thing to do as what we have expected to take place.

It could be regarded as evil to which government officials must resign themselves because it serves as annihilation to mankind and not the progress as what they say. One could argue that due to war the people with the strongest virtues have survived, thus determining the course of history. It would seem then that, in the past, war could operate on the sly in order to win while the people are totally against it. Despite other claims that modern war is an agent of progress. The evil unlocks and embodies it more heavily on us, the inhabitants of the world.

Let us dare face the situation. Man has become a superman because of scientific and technological advances. He is a superman because he does not only have at his own disposal to go beyond the innate physical forces, but also to command, and that is the reason for him to thank to what is the so-called scientific and technological advances worldwide. The latent forces of nature invade somebody to wield over the others in giving direct supervisions and responsibilities. To kill at a distance, man has used solely his own savvy to rely on his physical strength, to bend the bow and to release the arrow.

The superman has progressed till the final stage where there are superpower to encompass, and device to design for the purpose. On the other hand, man can use his energy to release with combustion of mixed chemical products. This enables him to employ a much more effective projectile and to propel it over the other devices with greater distances. Man has become a superman on his own volition to suppress and conquer others, but not a friendly one when he uses destructive weapons to kill other people.

Early before, when there were two places engaged in war, they sent only their best soldiers. The soldiers representing each homeland fought until they achieve victory. The soldier, who won the fight, determines the victory of his homeland. But nowadays, war now involves killing all the people in an area where the innocent people peacefully live in.

As long as the place is recognized as a place for the enemies, it must be bombarded without question and it must be annihilated at once so that no one will go against them.

Just like a puzzle, world peace can be put back together, and all it needs is a helping hand. It only takes one person to end the indignant, and end the greedy. The world peace can't be written down on a piece of paper, but it can be seen through man’s daily actions. No matter what the flag you have pledged under, but we are all the same.

What the present world needs is love and understanding. People can promote peace in their community just by cooperating, lending a hand or giving a smile. A good heart is what it helps us create peace in our community on earth. To have the people find peace and progress, each and every one of us must try and find the good deeds for everyone’s heart.

In the Philippines, we need to have an organized and powerful team to stop all kinds of criminality.  Just like what our ancestors did themselves when they were all in need during the war that they asked for help. The world at present is on the right foot to be working towards a nonviolent environment and trying to end those difficult situations so we can have the chance to improve our surroundings.

By following the footsteps of Gandhi we can achieve equal rights and we will resort to cease such a racial segregation. There are really two-steps in working towards total world peace. The first step is to treat others as you would want yourself to be treated and secondly to stop the fighting no matter what it costs.

Fighting only makes situations worse. We should always have our hearts to open and be ready to give out. So, to end the indignant and the greedy, it only takes one person to embark on peace and end the war by paving the way to start the peace at all times if the government officials understand the essence of life--there is a chance to resort to it after all.

Having faith in our Creator is a great advantage to all of us because we can refrain from starting the arguments and conflicts among individuals. We must also learn to respect others so that they will also respect us in return.

Figuratively, the dove is the symbol of peace and we should also recognize and grab the scenario for God’s sake.

Lastly, we can find peace in Jesus Christ; in the Holy Eucharist, we can see that the dove is placed above the chalice showing that  Jesus Christ is sharing peace to the world.
