Thought flows in terms of stories...

Stories about events, stories about people, and stories about intentions and achievements. The best teachers are the best story tellers. We learn in the form of stories-Frank Smith. An educational system isn't worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn't teach them how to make a life-Author Unknown.

Municipal level Math challenge: Mingscians grab 1st place

By Diamond Jeff Paug

The competition happened recently, and it marked the victory of the school. "It cushions the impact on the underlying principles of excellence and refinement not only on the external academic aspects but also on the internal sense of being,” according to Mr. Russel Dulosa, 4th year Math teacher of Minglanilla National Science High School.

The Municipal level Math challenge, which was held at Tulay National High School, made a standing ovation as students grabbed all the badges.

The lead principal Mrs. Eutiquia S. Alday, together with her coaches Mr. Russel Dulosa and Mrs. Cherry Lou Zapanta were very happy of the results. Their contestants reached place with effort and achieved straight victory in Math competition. “It was the product of extensive trainings and practices undergone by the students before engaging themselves in actual competition,” said Mrs. Zapanta, Math coordinator.

Four different categories took place. In quiz bee contest, all year levels grabbed hold of first three hot places. First year level, Giselle Aliganga garnered first place, Agnes Marie Auman for 2nd place and Aimee Rañoa for 3rd place. Second year level, Gio Abastillas grabbed 1st place, Shaira Abangan for 2nd place and Mona Jane Cabanig for  3rd place. Janine Aliganga, Meldey Rose Sy and Paul Christopher Caña emerged first, second and third places, respectively. Fourth year level, Diamond Jeff Paug ranked first place, Judith Leyson for second place and Charles Catipay for third place.

Highly creative genre and incessant display of talents posed a difficult decision among judges to single out the most outstanding entry. However, Jeco Roy Osorio, Alaiza Tangaha and Mayumi Deguma put themselves into the safest second spots. With hotline dance moves, Math Sayaw was on the third spot.

“DAMATH was not included in the Division Level Contest, but Mingscians remained first in all year levels during the competition. Truly, such a challenge served as one of the victories that Minglanilla National Science High School has ever achieved,” quipped the proud principal Mrs. Eutiquia S. Alday.

  3. I say that I hate math because I am pissed when we talk about solving math problems, that is my weakness. We cannot avoid math because we used it in our daily life, that's why I will challenge more of myself to be like these students who love math.
