With each separate theme of “Motivating, Engaging, and Enhancing Students through Mathematics Competition,” for Math and “Kids of the New Decade: Moving Beyond Science Clubbing Continuum,” for Science, MNSHS celebrates Math-Sci month. One of the activities highlighting the event is the Math-Sci jingle.
The activity set off with a mass at Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish Church. It specifically started at 8 o’clock in the morning. The Mingscians asked for a glorious event and for divine supervision during the mass.
Math-Sci Jingle concluding elimination took place last October 1, 2010. It was held at the front hallway of the faculty room. Each section took part in the affair. MNSHS has 3 sections for the freshmen- Gold, Copper and Titanium, 2 for the Sophomores-Lead and Silver, 2 for juniors-Zinc and Nickel, and 2 for the Seniors-Uranium and Platinum.
The group-performers did their best. The students performed through hardships, breathtaking presentations and awesome overall-performance. The performances were adjudged according to the relevance to the theme and voice quality.
After all marvellous performances, the winners were finally declared:. 5th placer went to Copper, 4th placer went to Lead, Nickel got the 3rd place, Silver owned the 2nd spot, and Zinc got the gold for winning 1st place. Everyone shouted “yehey” upon hearing their names.
Gold, Titanium, Uranium and Platinum were delighted, despite the failure. They showed sportsmanship and were happy on their performance. “There will always be winners and losers in every game.” As what they say, “Victory is not measured on how you win a race but rather on how you overcome the trials and hardships along the road,” said the Mingscians.
The celebration ended peacefully. Everybody thanked the Lord for making the event successful. “To everyone, ‘KUDOS!’ for the job well done,” said the principal.
